Wir benutzen wie vorher quadratische Ergänzung:

x2−2xy2+2y=(x−1)2−12 und=(y+1)2−12.

So erhalten wir die Gleichung

(x−1)2−1+(y+1)2−1(x−1)2+(y+1)2=−2=0.

Der einzige Punkt, der diese Gleichung erfüllt, ist (xy)=(1−1), nachdem die linke Seite der Gleichung größer als null für alle anderen x- oder y-Werte wird.
